About CancerCare North Lancashire & South Cumbria

CancerCare is an independent local charity supporting people affected by cancer or bereavement in North Lancashire and South Cumbria. We have centres in Lancaster, Morecambe, Kendal, and Barrow.

At CancerCare, we understand that facing cancer is more than just a physical issue. Its impact reaches beyond the patient, and also affects those around them. The only service of its kind in the area, CancerCare offers free professional therapy services and group activities, designed to help individuals and their families come to terms with and manage the challenges of a serious life limiting health condition and bereavement.

We also offer specialist support to young people aged 3 to 18, including one to one play therapy and counselling, and peer support and activity groups (the ReFresh project).

Your Impact

All our therapists are qualified practitioners with extensive experience in their areas of expertise. We will arrange complementary therapy and counselling appointments at a time that is convenient for you at one of our centres in Lancaster, Morecambe, Kendal and Barrow (including in the evenings) to ensure that you can get the maximum benefit from the session.

All of our complementary therapies are designed to “complement” and we pride ourselves on having access to a wide range of different types of therapy, ranging from nutritional advice to hypnotherapy. We are also always looking to keep up with the latest developments in complementary healthcare and technology and now have the ability to deliver some therapies using the telephone and online methods – which has helped us reach even more people who need us.
