Be The Change is an award winning youth organisation based in Bolton. Our name reflects our commitment to developing young people who are a positive force in their community, and bringing people together who represent Bolton in all its diversity.
Be The Change Youth Project CIC is based at the heart of our local community. Everything we do is aimed at improving the wellbeing of local young people and supporting them through to adulthood. We support young people from across Bolton aged from 10-25 to reach their full potential.
We engage with around 350 young people per week, most of whom attend regularly, and are currently providing mentoring to twelve young people.
Our project's location in the Great Lever and Rumworth area, characterised by high deprivation levels, amplifies the need for accessible and inclusive activities. Young people in this area often express concerns about safety, particularly due to their awareness of gang cultures and knife crime. They seek safe spaces, reliable adult guidance, and activities that acknowledge their talents and abilities, which our project provides through various sessions in two community venue.
