The BDD Foundation is the only charity in the world exclusively dedicated to raising awareness and alleviating the suffering caused by Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD). Whilst we remain a very small charity, we have a global reach. We directly help support the community via our support groups, e-helpline, video content, podcast and more. The BDD Foundation runs efficiently on a very small budget and has a dedicated and diverse board of trustees consisting of leading clinicians and individuals with lived experience of BDD. We are very grateful to our active and committed volunteers who are critical to the delivery of our services. BDD is under-recognised and under-diagnosed, the Foundation hopes to change this through driving awareness of the condition in the media and through our campaigns. We provide access to accurate and up to date information for individuals with BDD and their loved ones as well as educating mental health professionals about the condition and available treatments. BDD is a serious condition with debilitating symptoms. It is crucial to provide support to this vulnerable community. With the right help and support BDD is treatable and beatable.
