Advantage Africa supports people affected by poverty, disability and HIV to improve their education, health and incomes. Our work helps some of East Africa’s most vulnerable people to overcome prejudice, help themselves and build a better future for their families and communities.

Your Impact

Advantage Africa’s projects includes income-generating enterprises, education and mobility aids for people with disabilities, skin clinics for people with albinism and HIV testing, counselling and care. We build close and long-term working relationships with trusted partner organisations in Kenya and Uganda to deliver these projects and achieve significant results with relatively modest funding. Our approach is to:

- Work directly with communities
- Promote long-term change
- Reach the most vulnerable
- Help people to help themselves
- Make a practical difference.

Our monitoring and evaluation demonstrates that our approach in identifying and supporting people on the margins is effective. For example in the last year, 2,141 people accessed HIV tests and treatment, 1,762 skin checks were carried out for people with albinism, 260 people with disabilities received wheelchairs and other appliances and 100 vulnerable families started sustainable income-generating enterprises that are enabling them to overcome poverty.
