About Adaptive Riders Collective

Adaptive Riders Collective (ARC) began in 2022 as a community interest company (CIC) with one clear mission: to open the outdoors to everyone. As the organisation grew, so did our ambition — and in 2024, we became a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO), ensuring we could reach more people, deliver more impact, and build a truly sustainable future for the community we serve.

We believe that the beauty, freedom, and exhilaration of Scotland’s wild places should be accessible to all — and we’re here to make that possible through the power of off-road adaptive cycling.

Based in Callander, right on the edge of the stunning Trossachs National Park, ARC runs regular sessions where riders can explore trails, build confidence, and connect with a supportive, welcoming community. We also take our work on the road, delivering “Come and Try” sessions across Central Scotland and offering weekend adventures in exciting locations. Wherever we go, our aim is the same: remove barriers and open doors to nature, independence, and joy.

For us, off-road adaptive cycles are more than equipment — they’re keys. Keys that unlock forests, hills, and trails that may once have felt unreachable. They help riders rediscover places they love, explore landscapes they’ve never accessed before, and enjoy the physical, mental, and social benefits of being outdoors.

What makes ARC special is our community-first, peer-led approach. We’re a collective of adaptive riders and non-disabled cyclists who ride together, support one another, and share the adventure equally. From small steps to big challenges, our teamwork-driven model ensures no one is left behind.

From the start, ARC has been shaped by lived experience. Our founder and CEO has lived with a disability his whole life, and people with disabilities are represented at every level — as volunteers, leaders, staff, and directors. Their knowledge, insight, and voices guide everything we do.

ARC isn’t just a cycling organisation — it’s a movement for inclusion, possibility, confidence, and community. And with your support, we can continue expanding our reach, opening more trails, and transforming more lives across Scotland.
