For everyone living with complex disabilities. For everyone who is deafblind. Sense is here to help people communicate and experience the world. We believe that no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, should be isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential.
We help people develop the skills to enjoy everyday things like having a conversation, enjoying friendships and living independently.
We believe that no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, should be isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential.
We offer personalised and flexible services for everyone who needs us, for as long as they need us – providing early intervention for children, helping young people access education, and supporting the transition into adulthood and beyond.
We support people in their home and in the community, in their education and through our holidays, arts, sports and wellbeing programmes.
We also:
- Offer practical support to families, including advice, short breaks and family events.- Provide information about communication.- Campaign for the rights of people with complex disabilities to take part in life.
We exist to help people with complex disabilities, and those who are deafblind, take part in life and enjoy the meaningful connections that spark joy. And now we're aiming to reach more people than ever.
Sense's work has never been more vital.
Thousands of people with complex disabilities, and those who are deafblind, are still missing out on the vital support they need. And the pandemic has only made things harder. It's made existing barriers worse and exposed new issues.
But throughout, Sense has adapted, doing things in new ways and reaching people in new places.
Now, we want to go further. Our goal is to support ten times more people living with complex disabilities by 2026. That’s 50,000 people over 5 years. But to do that, we need everyone connected to Sense to come together in support.
Now is the time to make a difference. Follow us on our journey.
A gift to Sense, no matter how small, can make a real difference to the lives of people with complex disabilities.
Could help pay for colourful, textured sight and sound tubes. These tubes contain jingling bells, so a child who is deafblind can explore different sounds and sensations.
Could help pay for a set of 5 light-up sight and sound tubes for a child who is deafblind to help stimulate their vision and hearing.
Could pay for a visit from a Sense Children and Family Support Worker who can give invaluable advice and support to the whole family when they need it most.
