Jonathan Perry - 75km Peak District Challenge

On 19th September, I’ll be running (and hiking!) 75km through the Peak District in support of two incredible charities: Mind and SOBBS (Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide).

Why I'm Doing This

Online gaming has played a huge part in my life. It’s more than just a hobby—it’s a space where I’ve been able to unwind, connect, and build strong friendships that have lasted far beyond the games themselves.

But while gaming communities can be supportive, competitive environments often carry a harmful stigma—especially when it comes to mental health. Talking about struggles can be seen as showing weakness, so many people stay silent, bottling things up when they really need to talk.

The truth is, sometimes just one open conversation can make all the difference. I’ve seen how important this is—not just in gaming, but in life.

With this challenge, I’m hoping to raise awareness and funds for two charities that do vital work:

Mind – Offering advice and support to anyone experiencing mental health issues, and campaigning to improve services and reduce stigma.

SOBBS (Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide) – Providing peer support and safe spaces for those affected by the devastating loss of someone to suicide.

If you’re able to support me—whether by donating or simply sharing this page—it would mean the world. Together, we can help open up conversations that save lives.

We are the only organisation offering peer-to-peer support to all those over the age of 18, impacted by suicide loss in the UK. We help those bereaved by suicide to support each other, at the time of their loss and in the months and years that follow. We are a self-help organisation and we provide a safe, confidential environment in which bereaved people can share their experiences and feelings.
