In 2026 I’m taking on something completely mad – the Marathon des Sables. That’s six days, 250km, across the Sahara Desert, carrying everything on my back in temperatures that melt your brain - it gets up to 50°C (122°F).
People call it “the toughest footrace on earth”… and I’ve signed myself up. Honestly, I think I might be crazy.
But here’s why I’m doing it: I want to raise £10,000 for two incredible charities – Hospice of St. Francis in Berkhamsted and Dreams Come True. That’s £5,000 each, going straight to causes that really matter.
The Hospice of St. Francis is a charity very close to my heart. They do unbelievable work supporting people and families through the hardest times, and most of what they do is only possible because of donations.
Dreams Come True is another charity I’ve been behind for years. They make magical things happen for children in some of the poorest parts of the UK who are living with life-limiting illnesses or severe disabilities. The impact they have is massive, and I want to help keep those dreams alive.
This race is going to be brutal. It’s going to test me physically, mentally, and emotionally. But every blister, every dune, every “why the hell am I doing this” moment will be worth it if it means raising money for these two amazing charities.
If you can support me – whether with a donation or by sharing this page – you’ll be part of making a real difference. Let’s go!
