Thank you for visiting Liam's fundraising page.
Liam entered and left the world on 26th July. He was born at 39 weeks and had a heartbeat right up until the moment he was born. The brilliant doctors, nurses and midwives of the RAH fought hard to save Liam and for that we are forever grateful. Liam's death was completely unexpected for everyone involved and that is something that will take time to come to terms with.
We are raising vital funds for Simba and 4Louis in Liam's honour. In the days after Liam's passing, these charities provided invaluable services to us both.
Simba refurbish Bereavement Rooms within Maternity Units to offer families the opportunity to spend precious time with and prepare to say goodbye to their baby in peaceful and private accommodation. The room at the RAH gave us a space to be together, but also to prepare ourselves for entering back into every day life.
4Louis provided a memory box which will give us something tangible to remember Liam by for years to come. The memory box has already brought us a lot of comfort and we want to make sure this can continue for any families who may also need this. The charity also provided a sibling pack for us to use as a tool when trying to explain this impossible situation to Lucy.
We will also be making a separate donation ourselves to the RAH Maternity Bereavement Fund. This money will go towards the upkeep of a bereavement room for parents who have suffered pregnancy or baby loss, and to buy memory making equipment along with tea, coffee and essential items like toiletries.
All our love, Ryan and Natalie
