Hike for Gaza

Alhamdulillah, we have reached our £2000 Target, then increased to £3000, then to £4000, we reached that within a few days! Alhamdulillah, and have now increased it again because Gaza needs as much as we can raise!

I’m climbing Mount Toubkal, the tallest mountain in North Africa, not for a medal, not for adventure, but for Gaza.

I want to turn this climb into something bigger than myself.
To raise money. To raise awareness.
To remind the world: We see you, Gaza. We are with you.

Why I’m Doing This
I’ve marched for Gaza.
I’ve spoken out.
I’ve donated, posted, grieved, like so many of us.

But after a while, I asked myself: is that all I can do?
Is sharing a post enough while children are pulled from rubble?

So I’m doing what I can, with my own two feet.

As the founder of My Salah Mat, I’ve always believed in purposeful action.
We’ve raised over £30,000 for Palestine through our work —
From creating children’s books like Train to Al-Aqsa
To launching Nūr the Watermelon Plushie, inspired by symbols of Palestinian resilience.
20% of production costs went straight to charity, even before a single sale.

But this time, I wanted to go further.
Not in money, in effort.
Because Gaza is not comfortable, and I don’t want to be either.

So I’ve chosen this hike — no training, no luxury, no shortcuts — just sweat, altitude, and intention.
To say: we haven’t forgotten you. We’re still climbing, still caring, still crying out.

I am doing this with one of my best friends from primary school and his sister, who literally organised it all. I couldn't ask for more help and support. Many of the people of Gaza have lost their friends and family, and this is more of a reason why I am doing this.

Please give what you can to help me reach my target - all funds raised go to Children Not Numbers' emergency response. Right now, they are raising funds to deliver emergency aid baskets to families in crisis, including things like oil, flour, lentils, and vegetables – each item is carefully selected to deliver essential nutrition to families with nothing left. £190* could provide a family with a basic food basket that will last around 1-2 weeks, but please give whatever you can - every penny helps.
