Colin’s colossal quest to conquer LCR in a day!
Everything we do at Knowledge Quarter Liverpool (KQ Liverpool) is about driving inclusive innovation and making a positive difference to people’s lives across the Liverpool City Region (LCR).
On 5th September KQ Liverpool’s Chief Executive, Colin Sinclair, is set to embark on an epic 52 mile run around the region to raise funds for six local charities.
With stops in Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens, and Wirral this mammoth run, which is the equivalent of TWO MARATHONS, will take Colin to every borough in just one single day.
All of the funds raised by Colin, on behalf of everyone at KQ Liverpool, will be used to support six charities – Stick ‘n’ Step (Halton), Home-Start (Knowsley), Centre 56 (Liverpool), Y Kids (Sefton), St Helens Young Carers (St Helens) and Claire House (Wirral) – all of which focus on making a difference in young peoples lives.

Home-Start Knowsley is an independent charity established in 1999 to support local families with at least one child under the age of eleven. We offer a proven model of peer-led early help in the home to prevent crisis and build family resilience.

Claire House Children’s Hospice helps seriously and terminally ill children make the most of the time they have however long or short that may be. By providing specialist nursing and end of life care, as well as emotional support Claire House helps families through some of the toughest times of their lives.

A Young Carer is someone aged 6-18 who provides regular or ongoing care and emotional support towards a family member who is ill, disabled, has a mental health condition or misuses drugs or alcohol. We believe every Young Carer should have the same opportunities as other children and young people of a similar age.

We’ve been supporting families who have experienced domestic abuse and crisis situations since 1973. Centre 56 was the first refuge outside London, and we’ve supported thousands of women and children to escape violence. We’re no longer a refuge but we do offer a wide range of services to families in crisis.
