We are the Middlesbrough U13’s Rugby Team, and we are coming together to raise money in memory of our teammate and friend, Mylo, who has tragically passed away.
In honour of Mylo, all money raised will be donated to support charities that are incredibly close to his family’s hearts — organisations that support children living with Cystic Fibrosis and those fighting childhood cancer. Mylo faced both of these battles with strength beyond his years.
Born with Cystic Fibrosis, and later fighting cancer with incredible bravery, Mylo never let his struggles define him. You wouldn’t have known the challenges he faced when you saw him on the rugby field — fierce, determined, and strong, yet always a true gentleman. His courage and spirit inspired everyone.
Mylo was just 13 years old — a kind, funny, and much-loved boy, simply out playing and being a kid, when he went missing on Thursday night. After tireless searches by emergency service teams, friends, and the local community, the heartbreaking news came that Mylo had been found.
This loss is truly unthinkable for his mama, Kayleigh, for Mylo’s family, friends, teammates, and coaches and teachers — and it has deeply affected our entire community. The love and support shown from near and far speaks volumes about how special Mylo was.
As his teammates, we want to do something to honour Mylo and show his family they are not alone. On Sunday 6th July, we will be doing a 12 mile sponsored walk from Redcar to Saltburn and back, in Mylo’s memory.
Please help us raise funds to support vital charities that make a difference to children facing the same battles Mylo quietly fought so bravely. Any donation, big or small, is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your support.
