£60K by 60! - Raising £10K for Sands

In 2025 I am trying to raise £10K for each of 6 amazing charities in an attempt to raise a total of £60K during my 60th year on the planet.

Sands is one of those 6 charities. Sands are the UK’s leading pregnancy and baby loss charity. They support people touched by pregnancy loss or the death of a baby; work with health services to provide training and tools to help to care for bereaved parents and families; assist in research aimed at better understanding of the causes of baby loss and how maternity care can be approved. My colleague, Pete Williams and I have organised a candlelight concert on 23rd October 2025 as the key fundraising event for this aspect of my challenge, featuring 2 highly acclaimed groups, the Northern String Quartet and Cottontown Chorus, at Chester Cathedral.
