Concept2 Triple Marathon - Ski / Row / Bike
830
On Saturday 2nd September I will be taking on the challenge of Triple Marathon using the Concept2 Ski Erg, Rower and Bike Erg.Every year I try and take on some form of physical challenge to raise money for charity and give myself a goal for the year. Last year was a tough year with lots of personal challenges which did not allow me any time or energy to take on a yearly charity challenge. But 2023, the annual challenge is set!.I will aim to complete a marathon distance on the Ski Erg, moving on to the marathon distance on the rower, then hopefully completing the challenge with a marathon distance on the Bike. The goal is to complete all 3 marathons, back to back, in under 12 hours, all whilst raising money for Alzheimer’s Society and Asthma + Lung UK Charity. We lost my Gran, Sybil, to Alzheimer’s in 2014 and recently, on 9th April, we lost my Uncle Steve (my Dad’s brother) to Posterior Cortical Atrophy (PCA) a rare and particularly cruel form of Alzheimer’s. In February 2020, Martina’s sister Sheridan, passed away from an underlying genetic respiratory disorder. The goal for the challenge is to raise £2,000 to be split between the 2 charities in memory of Sybil, Steve and Shez. The day will be hosted by Legion CrossFit, Maidenhead where everyone is invited to come along throughout the day to support whilst we hopefully raise lots of money for 2 amazing charities in memory of 3 amazing people. If anyone fancies joining me and signing up to keep me company for a few km along the way then please let me know as there will be a couple of spare bits of kit and I am hoping to get people to ski, row and bike alongside me throughout the duration. The day will be topped off with a BBQ and a few well-earned beersConcept2 Triple Marathon
