Between 11th August and the 15th of August, 2025, Chris Straker and Kevin Rennison will cycle from Edinburgh to Beverley (320 miles) to raise sponsorship for Emmaus Hull & East Riding and Chasing Rainbows.
We have opened a Givewheels account to make sure that all monies raised are split 50:50. Please see the link and the Givewheels account on Facebook and Linkedin and other places you might post us.
The money raised from sponsorship will go to two great charities that make a difference to people’s lives.

Info on Emmaus:
https://emmaus.org.uk/hull/about-us/
Here at Emmaus Hull & East Riding, with your support, we are working together to make a real difference to the lives of people who experience homelessness.
For many of the people we support, having an opportunity to contribute to society whilst being part of a supportive community, rebuilds their confidence and self-esteem. Emmaus doesn’t just provide a bed for the night. We offer a home for as long as someone needs it, a tailored support package and meaningful work in our community and social enterprise.
The Orchard, our residential community is home for up to 30 formerly homeless people, known as companions. Our community provides companions with the warmth, food, home comforts, support network and sense of belonging that many people who have experienced homelessness may have lost. It’s a safe and caring place where people can settle, relax, socialise and rebuild their lives.
Since 2016, Emmaus Hull & East riding has delivered a successful rough sleeper outreach service. Trained support workers, including some of our companions, meet people who are street homeless to offer friendly advice, items, signposting and access to further support. They do this by meeting individuals with a caring and positive attitude so that trust is established and the best result is achieved. Working alongside a wide range of partners, our commissioned outreach services have achieved many successful outcomes.
Info on Chasing Rainbows:
https://www.chasingrainbowscharity.com
Chasing Rainbows was founded in May 2019 and became a registered charity in April 2020. The charity was founded by Samantha Catanach also known as The Crazy Fertility Queen. Samantha suffered 5 miscarriages and now dedicates her time to supporting others through their journey.
Chasing Rainbows aims to make people feel comfortable talking about pregnancy and baby loss. Miscarriage is a taboo subject that is often avoided, we aim to encourage people to feel less alone and to support their mental health through peer support experiences.
Based in Hull and East Riding, we offer vital support for those experiencing pregnancy and baby loss. While our services primarily support the local community, we are proud to offer nationwide support through initiatives like our Pen Pals programme. Whether you're in Hull or across the UK, we are here to provide a safe space, a listening ear, and a connection for those navigating loss and infertility. Our mission is to make sure no one feels alone in their journey, regardless of where they are located.
