Hi Everyone,
Thanks for visiting my givewheel page.
On Sunday 11 May I am running the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon, once again as a fully-dressed lobster, hoping to claw back some time compared to last year and people shell out a bit more!
Like last year, I will be running for Action For Pulmonary Fibrosis (APF) in memory of our friend Bridget.
Bridget passed away in March 2024 after a battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. She was keen to raise awareness and had a brilliant sense of humour, so I will run the 26.2 miles wearing a lobster costume because Rock Lobster by the B-52’s was a standout song for her!
Pulmonary fibrosis (lung scarring) describes a group of interstitial lung diseases where the lungs become progressively stiffer and smaller, eventually leading to low oxygen levels in the blood. Pulmonary fibrosis affects around 70,000 people in the UK.
APF’s vision is to find a cure for pulmonary fibrosis so that everyone affected by the disease has a better future, supporting families, raising awareness, campaigning and educating to improve access to the highest standard of care for everyone affected. APF is also committed to finding a cure through funding research.
I will also be running for Betknowmore UK this year, a charity that supports and provides information to those harmed by gambling, whilst raising awareness of the potential harms of gambling through education and training.
I'm sure you agree these are two very worthy causes so please do consider sponsoring me ahead of the run.
