I am a palliative medicine consultant and want to highlight the financial challenges that palliative care teams and hospices face across the UK (https://www.hospiceuk.org/latest-from-hospice-uk/urgent-call-save-end-life-care-20-hospices-threatened-cuts)
I am doing this by cycling to all of the hospices I worked at during my training, on Friday 11th July. I’ll be cycling 184 miles and visiting:LOROS HospiceSt Giles HospiceDouglas MacMillan HospiceCompton CareMarie Curie SolihullWarwick Myton HospiceCoventry Myton Hospice
I’m fundraising for all of these organisations, but also hoping to give a wider message that greater funding is needed for palliative care across the board - in hospices, hospitals and community settings.
