Hi! I'm Jevan Thompson, and this April I'm setting off on a once-in-a-lifetime challenge: walking the entire length of Great Britain, from John O’ Groats to Land’s End—over 1,100 miles on foot, solo, and mostly camping along the way.
This journey has been a dream of mine for years. And now, after finishing 8 years of service in the British Army, I finally have the time and opportunity to make it happen. But I didn’t just want this to be about ticking a box on my bucket list—I wanted to turn it into something bigger.
💙 Why I'm Doing This
I'm using this challenge to raise money for three incredible charities that mean a lot to me personally:
The Royal British Legion – Having served in the Army, I’ve seen how much of a difference RBL makes in supporting veterans and their families. Their work is vital, and I want to give back.
Macmillan Cancer Support – They provided amazing care and support to a relative of mine during cancer treatment. I saw first-hand just how important their services are in times of need.
Building Heroes – I attended one of their resettlement courses during my transition from the military, and the support they offer to service leavers in re-skilling and rebuilding their lives is absolutely top-tier.
📅 The Plan
I’ll be starting my walk on April 21st, 2025, and expect it to take around 90 days. I’ll be carrying my gear, camping most nights, with the occasional stop in a hostel or hotel to recharge. The goal is to thru-hike the entire route, fully self-supported.
📲 Follow the Journey
I’ll be posting regular updates, photos, and stories from the trail over on Instagram at @jevan.tommo.thompson – come follow along, say hi, and see how far I’ve managed to walk each day!
🙌 How You Can Help
Whether you donate £1 or £100, every penny goes directly to the charities via the GiveWheel page. Your support means a massive amount—not just to me, but to the organisations making a real difference in people’s lives.
Thanks so much for reading, for cheering me on, and for helping me make this journey count.
Let’s do this 💪
