John Sisk

Following the success of our 2024 charity cycle to Bath — despite being caught in a grueling storm — the riders from John Sisk are gearing up once again for another two-day cycling challenge. We are fundraising for two incredible causes: Great Ormond Street Hospital and the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Society.

In 2024 we raised just over £12,000 thanks to our family, friends, clients and supply chain, an incredible number that made a huge difference.

This year we hope to match this. Taking place over 2 days the riders from Sisk will be embarking on a 2 leg journey from St Albans to Brighton, resulting in a cumulative 173 miles (280km) and 8,202ft (2500m) of climbing!

We’ve chosen to support this charity because dementia is something that touches so many of our lives. Many of us know the emotional and physical toll of watching a loved one live with this disease—and the long, difficult journey of caring for them.
Right now, 1 in 3 people born in the UK will develop dementia in their lifetime. It’s a growing issue, and studies show that long-term stress and anxiety can increase the risk. But there are ways to make a difference—staying active, eating well, and keeping your mind engaged can all help reduce the risk.

The Alzheimer’s Society is there for people every step of the way. They offer practical advice, emotional support, and guidance for families facing some of the hardest moments of their lives. Their work helps people living with dementia lead more fulfilling lives, with dignity and support.
By donating, you're not only helping provide care today—you’re investing in the future. Your support funds ground-breaking research into new treatments, better care, and ultimately, the search for a cure. The more we raise, the faster progress can happen.

We’ve also chosen to support Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH)—a place that gives seriously ill children the best possible chance at life. The GOSH charity helps fund life-saving equipment, family support services, vital research, and child-friendly spaces that go beyond what the NHS can provide. Their goal is simple but powerful: to help children recover in the best possible environment, while easing the load on families and supporting the incredible staff who care for them.

This cause is especially close to home for us at John Sisk, as we’re currently building the new Children’s Cancer Centre (CCC) at GOSH. The project, backed by GOSH Charity, will deliver a state-of-the-art clinical building, a new front entrance, and a welcoming space for everyone who walks through the hospital doors.
Once complete, the CCC will span nearly 19,000 square metres and provide a world-class environment that matches the hospital’s reputation for excellence in pediatric care and research. We’re proud to be a part of something that will have such a lasting, life-changing impact.
