FUNDRAISING FOR NATIONAL KIDNEY FEDERATION, KIDNEY CARE UK, KIDNEY RESEARCH UK AND THE NHS CHARITIES TOGETHER
I am going on an adventure. The plan is to travel on a motorcycle alone around Europe crossing up to 18 countries covering over 10,000 km.
I discovered that I had a passion for adventure that I needed to pursue. I began my adventures from doing simple day hikes with friends, to attempting more challenging activities, like spending nights alone in the forest, on the hills, cliffs, doing solo multiday long backpacking and solo motorcycle rides around the whole of the UK full circuit. Whilst I was doing these adventures to satisfy my own desires of life and to fulfil my passion, I always had a strong thought about doing something through this to support others as well, but needed a strong reason and a right time.
My wife was diagnosed with kidney disease in 2009 and then started home-dialysis treatment in 2014, she then received a kidney transplant in 2016 at the Queen Alexander Hospital in Portsmouth, however returned to in-centre haemodialysis in 2019. We have recently moved to South Yorkshire and she is currently awaiting another transplant at the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield.
Whilst every adventure is a challenge of its own and with no exception to this one that I am undertaking, where I am unknown to most part of what I am going to experience; I am a bit scared but determined to take on the challenge. This will enable me to meet people along the way, and raise awareness of my wife’s condition and kidney disease in general.
I have also planned to raise some funds to support the people with kidney failure through this event. As mentioned, I have personally witnessed what the pain and suffering these patients and their families go through, and the tremendous help these patients require in order to try living a decent life.
I have also witnessed the pure dedication, selfless care, compassion and hard work that the doctors, nurses and all the healthcare professionals put into saving and supporting the millions of patients every single day.
Whilst on the other side, the charitable organisations such as the National Kidney Federation (NKF), Kidney Care UK, Kidney Research UK and NHS Charities Together are doing incredible jobs providing support to the patients and families and NHS staff. Therefore, I believe any little we can do from our side to contribute to their support systems would surely be highly valuable.
All the money that would be raised through this event will be distributed equally to all these four charity firms.

Many thanks to all of you for showing your kindness, compassion and love for all those that need it out there on this earth.
