Paula Stainton
YCFC Foundation Team - York Charity Sleepout 2025
7091
Paula and Olly are taking part in the York Charity Sleepout on the 1st May at the York LNER Community stadium, on behalf of the entire YCFC Foundation Team.
Whilst Paula isn't new to fundraising, as it's her 3rd sleepout for charity since 2019, Olly has only recently joined the Foundation's inclusion team and it is his first sleepout event and we are really proud of him for stepping up to take on this challenge and fundraise for these charitable organisations who provide frontline services and support for those in York who most need it!
This event is raising money for SASH, York City Football Club Foundation, Restore York, and Kitchen for Everyone York, who support homeless individuals, rough sleepers, and disadvantaged families.
The event is not replicating homelessness but it will be to experience just a fraction of what it’s like to sleep rough.
In Paula's words, "This may not be like taking on a challenge like the marathon or 3 peaks, we don't have to train for weeks for it, but it is being out of your comfort zone for the night. Trying to sleep on a hard floor, hearing unusual noises around you (not least the snoring from other sleepers!), being cold and generally not comfortable, and it hits you most when you get to go home and shower and get into your own bed the following night just how lucky we are!
If we can raise money needed to support these organisations who offer life changing services and guidance, then every bit of my discomfort is worth it, so please give us your support and make those hours in the middle of the night much more bearable.
Honestly, every penny counts - as much or as little as you can help. Thank you"
