'The Sprint Sisters' Blenheim Triathalon Sunday 8th June 2025

We did it!!!

Let me introduce 'The Sprint Sisters'. We all run small businesses and met through the fabulous networking group Socially Shared.

Team Captain is me, Julia, I completed Blenheim Tri for the first time in 2024. I then inspired (ok and maybe encouraged a little!) the rest of the team Sarah, Lisa, Jo and Roisin.

We all have different reasons for taking part but supporting these three fabulous charities is very close to our hearts.

Please support us in any way you can. We are grateful for absolutely every penny that we can raise.

For me, this year it's even more important to support these charities. My husband suffered a heart attack last year and is currently going through treatment for advanced prostate cancer. We really never know when we are going to need support.

These are Sarah's reasons for joining
'Julia's enthusiasm for the Blenheim Triathlon 2024 was infectious - or is it that she is just an amazing saleswoman! With a serious case of FOMO I signed up! My 60th Birthday is on the horizon and with it the strong desire to give myself a real challenge and prove that I can do stuff. I wanted to build my stamina and strength as well as attempt to change my body shape and this was my chance.

I find myself in a small but fabulous team of like-minded women with the added bonus of raising money for three amazing charities, which mean so much to us all. We are championing each other every inch of the way, celebrating all training achievements however small with Julia, our amazing, cheer-leading and highly motivating Team Captain at our helm.

Thank you for this opportunity - I just want to get out of Blenheim alive and in daylight!'

These are Roisin's reasons for joining
'When Julia suggested doing the Blenheim Sprint Triathlon in January besides the usual New Year fitness challenge, the charity fundraising was the main reason I said yes. Each of these charities will have touched us in different ways.
I’m doing the Blenheim Sprint Triathlon in memory of my Dad who passed away in February and suffered from Alzheimer’s. He certainly would have encouraged all the training especially swimming to shore from the boat ⛵️ getting some ice cream 🍨 and bringing it back to the rest of the crew in a water proof bag. 😋
Thank you for your support.'

These are Jo's reasons for joining
'I had never considered doing a triathlon, but when Julia said she needed a new team for this year it sparked something in me. I’d been inspired by Julia doing her first one last year and after a knee replacement, and I decided it would be a great challenge in the year I turn 50. Although my reasons for doing the event are personal, it’s a fantastic opportunity to raise funds for 3 very important charities, whose work will likely touch all of us at some time.'

These are Lisa's reasons for joining
'I’ve always been someone who likes to try something new and push myself out of my comfort zones, but I hadn’t ever considered a triathlon until Julia suggested it.

It’s been great to be part of a group cheering each other during training and I’m pleased to be able to raise money for three incredible charities who support so many people through tough times.'
