Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page!
On Saturday 10 May 2025 I will be competing in the Mallorca 70.3 Ironman, not something I thought I'd ever say!
However, this time last year Andrew's mum, Jean, suffered a major stroke, and my mum, Sue, was diagnosed with Stage 3 ovarian cancer. Two life changing diagnosis within 2 weeks. Again, not something I thought I'd ever say.
12 months on and our mums have both shown such courage and resilience we couldn't be more proud.
To say that this event is outside of my comfort zone is an understatement.
Both my Mum Sue, and Andrew's Mum Jean, have tackled illnesses and treatments that have gone far beyond comfortable, and it is with respect for them and their inspirational determination that I've taking on this challenge.
My Mum (along with Dad, Andrew and the children) will be at the finish line in Mallorca which is certainly going to be spurring me on in the final km's!
Someone who will not be at the finish line is Ross, my best friend. He succumbed to an inoperable brain tumour 8 months after his diagnosis. He was just 26 years old and is missed every single day. I will be supporting The Brain Tumour Charity to help fund research into the causes and treatment of brain tumours in his memory.
The Chrisite is where Mum has been receiving her chemotherapy. To say they have been amazing is an understatement and we can not thank them enough for the support they have provided to both Mum and Dad.
The Stroke Association and Cancer Research UK are the other two wonderful charities I will be supporting.
Thank you again for your support!
