This August 2025 I will be setting off on my biggest challege to date, an attempt to circumnavigate the globe on a unicycle!!
As with my previous challenges, I will be travelling solo and unsupported. Just me, my 36inch Kris Holm unicycle and the essentials that I will be needing from day to day.
Over the past few years I have been raising funds and awareness for Parkinson's UK, the drive to help support them stemming from my eldest Brother Neil being diagnosed with 'early on-set PD'.
To show support to Neil, who lives out in Australia, and also to help the lives of others living with PD and support the research into finding a cure, all mean the world to me.
Back in 2023 I re-met my father after becoming estranged from one another back in 2001. After some correspondence we met for real and things went well. Unfortunately life had other ideas though, as just 6 months later I received news that Dad was ill.
That illness turned out to be pancreatic cancer, and within 4 weeks from diagnosis he sadly passed away.
Add that loss to the countless number of friends and loved one that have, or are currently, battling cancer in it's various forms and raising funds, awareness and pushing to help find a cure becomes a no-brainer.
So for this enormous challenge I will also be raising funds and awareness for Cancer research UK.
The charities will receive a 50/50 split of al money received here
Any finances you can pledge to my chosen causes would mean a lot, not just to me, but to a whole lot of people, all dealing with a life affected by these diseases. Thanks. Luke x
