****OUT OF USE****

On a blustery day in August 2021, Freddie John called Joe Atherley proposing something audacious and exciting: a new world first attempt. In June 2022 they are attempting to become the first people ever to scale Slieve Donard, Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis, collectively known as the UK 4 Peaks, all in under 24 Hours without the use of air travel.

The challenge involves 30 miles of hill running, nearly 13000 feet of vertical ascent, 559 miles on the Road and consuming probably about a million of those little energy gel sachets. It will require an absolutely mammoth effort from the boys and some very slick logistics indeed.

The Motor Neurone Disease Association and Help for Heroes have been chosen for the good work that they do and the real difference that they make.

Freddie and Joe are also in discussions with sponsors to help improve every chance of success, as well as Guinness World Records for that little extra motivation when they are half way up Ben Nevis in the wind and rain at 3am, contemplating why on Earth they decided to put themselves through this.

Freddie and Joe met at the University of Exeter and bonded over a shared love of skiing, and have scaled several mountains (and the Arabic Centre on the Exeter campus...) in preparation for the big day. They have taken part in plenty of antics in the mountains, but this will be their greatest yet.
