In 2020, we lost Duncan Wright, a Chartered Surveyor with an immense passion for football. This devastating loss came as a result of an infection contracted during critical life-saving heart surgery nearly two years prior. Despite undergoing two additional heart surgeries and receiving daily treatment, the infection ultimately led to Duncan's untimely passing.
Prior to his passing Avison Young hosted a friendly 5-a-side charitable football tournament in Edinburgh. Duncan had participated in each of these tournaments, and with the pandemic restrictions easing, Avison Young revived the annual event in 2022 in his honour.
This year’s competition will be held on the November 8th at the World of Football located within Edinburgh's Corn Exchange.
This year we are supporting two charities and the staff of Avison Young voted to allocate half of the funds raised to the Ronald McDonald House's Edinburgh House which provides a home at Sick Kids for families supporting their children at the hospital. And the Cat's Whiskers, a fantastic local Clackmannanshire charity which provides a cat shelter and cat rehoming service whilst evolving in to a wider community focussed charity.
We've successfully raised over £20,000 in donations over the past two years, and would love another strong fundraising effort as we come together to honour Duncan's memory.
