Some of the NWG Team are taking on the Manchester Half Marathon on Sunday 13th October to raise money for 3 amazing charities!! We are aiming to raise a grand total of £3000 - £1000 for each of the following charities which are extremely close to our hearts!
Millie Wright Children's Charity - Nile himself is a patron for the Millie Wright Children's charity and had the pleasure to know and train gymnasts under the same roof as Millie. Ceri and Nige's work is a testament to the incredible young woman Millie was. Their vision is for every family supporting a child with a life threatening or medically complex condition to receive hands-on charitable support. Specifically, they want to provide practical and emotional support to parents and carers via Family Support Workers, employed by the charity. They work directly with the Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust to enable this. Find more information at: www.millieschildrenscharity.org
JDRF - JDRF is a charity which funds research to cure, treat and prevent type 1 diabetes. They work with government, academia and industry to accelerate research and healthcare policy in the UK. They give support and a voice to people with type 1 and their families. Find out more at: www.jdrf.org.uk
Sport in Mind - In memory of Paul McKeaney, dad to Head Coach Cara and friend to many. Paul's unwavering love of fitness and dedication to training for Ironman inspired all those around him. They are the UK's leading mental health sport charity, aiming to transform the lives and mental health of children and adults through sport and physical activity. They deliver projects in partnership with the NHS to aid recovery, promote mental wellbeing, improve physical health, combat social isolation and empower people to move their lives forward in a positive direction. We would appreciate any support from gymnasts and their families, as well as any of our friends and families looking to donate to such a great cause and motivate us through each of those 13.1 miles.
