Paris to London Run Challenge

Paris to London Run Challenge
Hello 👋 If we haven’t met, I’m Steve Kendall, and in April 2025 I’m planning on running from Paris to London… it sounds mad, I know, but I’ve loved running all my life and to mark my 40th birthday I wanted to do something that would not only test my love of running but also push me to my limits…
So, here’s the challenge...
On Monday 21st April I’m going to start running from the Arc de Triomphe in Paris all the way back to Blackheath, South London.
That’s six days of running 28.75 miles or 46 KM a day… 😱
Then, to finish off on Sunday 27th April I’m going to run the London Marathon… who needs a day of rest!?
Why am I doing this?
As I said, I’ve loved running since I was a kid, but this is going to push me out of my comfort zone and to a place I’ve never been before! But I’m also doing it to help raise money and awareness (click on the individual charity logo at the top of the page for more information) for some incredible charities.
How can you help?
I want to raise £10,000 for four charities that mean so much to me, I’ve listed them below. Anything you’re able or willing to give will be greatly appreciated by me and those charities
I also would like to invite you, your friends, your neighbours, even furry friends to run any distance with me on Saturday 26th April from East Grinstead to Blackheath, via Bromley. I’ll be sharing more details on social media nearer the time, but mark your calendars now. It would be amazing to see as many faces running alongside me as possible as I come back into London.
Fundraising in aid of:
Shelter
Mind
Campaign Against Living Miserably - CALM
St Christopher's Hospice
Shelter - It’s often said that many of us are just one bad decision away from homelessness. With rising numbers of evictions and rough sleeping, having a place to call home is something that many of us take for granted. Shelter is a charity that works with a wide variety of people from the visible face of homelessness (rough sleeping) to the evicted families who are in need of emergency housing.
Mind - The work that Mind do crosses a huge range of individuals. Not only do they support people suffering from a range of mental health issues but personally, I know the work they do to support families and individuals suffering the horrible impacts of dementia.
CALM - Is a suicide prevention charity, providing resources and support to those that are struggling. As a man in his 40’s (suicide is the biggest killer of men under 50) and someone who has seen firsthand the devastation of suicide and the impact on the loved ones left behind, it is a charity that I feel passionate about supporting. On average 115 people will die by suicide in the time it takes me to complete my challenge…75% of those will be male.
St Christopher's Hospice - A local hospice to me that have helped friends and family with end of life care for their loved ones. They support people during really difficult times, whether they choose home care or residential care at their hospice in Sydenham.
Your support means the world to me and I can’t wait for you to join me on this journey. If you’re not following me already, you can follow my journey on insta @smkendall4 or my training miles on Strava, (https://www.strava.com/athletes/711934).
Keep on running!
