On Saturday 2nd November 2024, between 6.30am and 11am, I will be running a charity 5k across the runway of Prestwick airport, to raise money for three wonderful cancer charities. These are; the Beatson, the Ayrshire hospice and Doing it for Daniel Foundation.

I am running this to raise money for three amazing charities, one of which is very close to my heart.

Unfortunately, my dad was diagnosed with a malignant Brain tumour back in September 2012 and visited the Beatson many times, where they could not have been more supportive and helpful. My Dad passed away in July 2013. Five years later, my gran was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and also attended the Beatson for treatment and recovery. Once again, they were so supportive and so helpful, to both my gran and our family.

I know that so many people nowadays, are affected by this horrible disease, whether it be a family member, a friend, a work colleague or someone you know. That is why I would like to raise as much money as possible for these brilliant charities, who are there for support for when you maybe feel alone or just need that to extra bit of comfort, to deal with such a life changing situation.
