Hello all and thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
On 30th September this year, I'll be racing in the Wadi Rum Ultra. 250km through desert. This is, arguably, one of the most arduous events I've ever taken part in, and I'm sure this would pose a challenge, even for the most experienced, ultra fit individuals.
I can't help but wonder if this event has ever been attempted by a brain tumour survivor?
In February 2018, my life was turned upside down when I heard just 5 words, "You've got a brain tumour."
3 weeks before my surgery was planned, I was rushed to hospital with a brain haemorrhage.
Naively I thought that removing the tumour would be the end of this ordeal. I soon realised this was just the start.
As 'recovery' progressed, support decreased. Long waiting lists, confusion between hospital departments and a whole load of people telling me what I would and wouldn't be able to do left me incredibly frustrated. And so, out of that frustration and a need for things to change, The Beyond Recovery Project was formed.
