Barrie's 'Growing old Disgracefully' beard and hair cut for Alzheimer's.
391
Pre lockdown my Dad decided to 'grow old disgracefully'. He had always wanted a pony tail, so grew his hair long, during lockdown the beard came along to join the pony tail. Dad has now decided to have his hair cut and his beard shaved off on his 80th Birthday to raise funds, to be split equally, between Alzheimer's Society & Alzheimer's Research UK. We have used Give Wheel as a platform for fund raising as we can select multiple charities and split the funds raised equally between them.
As most of you know, my Mum was diagnosed some five years ago and is 'ticking over' but isn't able to get out of bed any longer. We think that this horrid disease has wiped out at least 40 years of her memory and continues to creep across Mum's brain like an unrelenting fog. Dad is Mum's main carer along with Keelea, Allison and Ian.
We will all be supporting Dad in his 80th Birthday fund raising and we hope other people will as well.
Thank you for reading this and if you live local to Dad and want to pop around on 16th January 2023, his hair and beard are disappearing about 14.30.
