August 18th!!! Sunday evening and no more challenges to complete. In fact by 10am I’d successfully finished each of the 7 challenges! I’m very glad, very relieved and, well a bit numb I think. It was hard. Each element on its own had sounded ok, I guess I hadn’t really processed it as a whole - a good job! I’d trained and in many ways was physically prepared, but the mental element was something else. I’ll not be the only one pleased there wasn’t another week! Thank you for your support, I’d not have managed without you. I and the charities are very grateful.
Progress.....,one week to go, phew.....
I'd been thinking, would I get this far....could I? The training was hard work, I'm used to running on several days a week and having one strength and conditioning pt session, but swimming on several days or going twice on one day? No way and doing this and run training....I was relieved to start, but then the pressups were hard, ....7 miles loomed. I planned a route, 2 pals offered to join me.... we did it! We never told each other we hadn't done that distance without stopping for several years, none of us! Nor that we all had sore knees! Then the daily swims loomed. I really didn't want to have to do 2 swims in one day, I so wanted to get the 70 lengths done on each occasion. Over a mile each time, really? And yes, I could and I did. So after York Parkrun today,' just 1 more Parkrun, 8 days of pressups and the aquathon. 6 weeks of challenges are done, 1 busy week to go.
Thanks you my supporters, please do sponsor me if you're thinking of doing so
Along with this being the 6th Parkrun of the challenge, we all claimed a Y for Parkrun challenge alphabeteer and a new venue as Parkrun tourists
