BUDGY SMUGGLER 52km Trek

Joseph Budgy

As someone who has never felt that their body was "good enough" - I went to the gym for 2 years working on getting a smaller waist, bigger arms, larger chest, toned legs, you name it! However I still didn't find that I liked my body because it wasn't the same as all those influencers on IG!

Through finding Budgy Smuggler and realising that being comfortable in your own skin is what matters most, I have started to find that I love the way I look with or without some extra belly fat and smaller arms.

Rugby is the perfect sports for having people of all shapes and sizes to work together. I. Fact you need a range of shapes and sizes to make the best team!

I'm not the fittest bloke on earth, but I enjoy hiking and I love Dartmoor. So, my challenge is to continually trek from North to South of Dartmoor, this is a 52km trek over rugged and boggy terrain. The average time to complete this walk is 12-15 hours.

To promote body image awareness, I will be doing this walk in no clothing other than hiking shoes, socks, hydration pack and Budgy Smugglers.

Been There is a charity in the form of an app that connects people aged 18 and over with a vetted and trained mentor to help with any body image issues they may be experiencing. This gives them the opportunity to speak to someone who has ‘Been There’ themselves. Our Mentors are here to support, empower and, most importantly, listen.
