The Challenge:
On 22 September 2022, a group of 27 colleagues from the London office will embark on a challenge to climb ten individual peaks over a 12 hour period in the Lake District.
The 10 Peaks is a tough challenge that will test participants' endurance and strength. Set in the stunningly beautiful Lake District as they climb ten peaks, encountering difficult terrain, lengthy descents and steep ascents along the way.
The Motivation:
Colleagues are participating in the 10 Peaks Challenge to raise money for two fantastic causes.
St Mungo's seeks to end homelessness and help people rebuild their lives. St Mungo's outreach teams go out each night to meet people who are homeless and to help them off the streets. With 17 outreach teams, they are one of the largest providers of outreach services in the UK. Each night St Mungo's offers a bed and support to more than 3,200 people across London, the south east and south west of the UK.
The Listening Place is somewhere individuals can talk openly about their feelings without being judged or being given advice. Suicide kills around 18 people a day in the UK. Most of those who die have sought but not found support and help. Suicide is the major single cause of death in men under the age of 49 in the UK, and there is an alarming increase in suicidal intentions amongst women.
Please support your colleagues and these worthwhile causes.
