I am planning on running the Regeneron Great Limerick Run half marathon in aid of GAIN UK & Ireland. Four years ago, my dad was diagnosed with CIDP. CIDP is a disease that affects 5 in 100,000 people and is twice as likely to occur in men. It wears down the fatty membrane around the nerves, resulting in significantly reduced motor function. GAIN is the only charity in the UK and Ireland that is dedicated to helping people with CIDP, which is why I would appreciate any donations, big or small, as there is very little information out there about the disease and my family have seen firsthand what it is like to live with CIDP.
