The challenge:
Sixth form pupils from Abingdon School are undertaking a sponsored challenge in the school Sports Centre on Saturday 11 May 2024 to raise funds for the charity Agape. By using the equipment in the gym, they will aim to travel a total of 398km, the distance that the River Dniester flows through the country of Moldova.

The charity:
The charity AGAPE works with young people in Moldova, one of the poorest countries in Europe. Its mission statement is "to serve the educational, emotional, physical and spiritual needs of those suffering the effects of poverty". Agape has recently been very actively involved in supporting the many thousands of refugees who have crossed the border from neighbouring Ukraine. Abingdon School has been working with this charity since 2000. Proceeds from the sponsored event will be used to fund summer camps for disadvantaged Moldovan children.

Donations will come to the School to be dispersed by the teacher running the trip to Moldova in the Summer.
