As many of your are already aware, I'm going to be running the London Marathon this coming October. After many unsuccessful years of trying to get in through the usual channels, it seems that luck was on my side in 2022 and my ballot application was accepted, albeit through the lucky 2000 extra ballot spaces offered after the main draw.
It gives me a great opportunity to raise some much needed funds for two charities that are extremely close to my heart, and ones which I've seen effect friends and family, especially over these past few years. To be able to make even just a small difference to these causes gives me the energy to push on with the training, and to hopefully get me over that finish line on the big day.
I'm in the middle of a sixteen week training plan that is designed to complete the marathon distance in under 4 hours, and although it has been very tough at times (and along with a few knee issues), I'm still sticking to the plan and enjoying every minute of it.
