Thanks for visiting this page. If you're here you'll know I've had a bit of a haricut! This was a change I wanted to do. But it made me think about times when ACTUAL life changes are thrust upon people by circumstances outside our control. So I'd like to use this update as an opportunity to highlight the work of, and raise money for, two charities close to my heart that support people going through significant, involuntary, drastic, and often devastating, changes in their lives.
The first of these is 'Lobular Breast Cancer UK'. Despite being the second most diagnosed form of breast cancer, there has been little research conducted on lobular. In addition, it behaves differently from the main type of breast cancer, rarely forming a lump, making it harder to detect by self-examination or to be seen on scans. Lobular breast cancer UK aim to provide much needed information, education and support about this distinct and under-studied disease, not simply to patients but also to GPs, nurses and other medical professionals. You can find more information at https://lobularbreastcancer.org.uk/
Secondly is the charity 'Mind'. Mental health problems can, and will, affect anyone, anywhere, may be totally unexpected, and can cause profound changes/disruption in lives. Mind provide support and information for mental health problems, including advice on how to cope, and signposting to other critical services. You can find more information at: https://www.mind.org.uk/
The funds raised on this page are split between these two charities. If you can spare a few quid to donate, that'd be much appreciated, every little helps. Thank you for your support.
Also - my hair wasn't wasted! It has been donated to a charity (The Little Princess Trust) who provide free real hair wigs to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatments or other conditions.
