Family Charity Bike Ride and Walk
1709
As part of our 30th year, we are undertaking our most ambitious charity fundraising challenge yet. We have set out to donate, sponsor, and fundraise for charities and local community projects. As part of our overall goal, we have made a last minute decision to participate in a fundraising family bike ride/walk set up by Howden Rotary Club. We will have teams in both the 5 mile walk category and the 7 mile bike ride categories.
Our aim is to raise money for 5 predominately local charities covering a wide spectrum of support to the Hull and East Riding area. All money raised will be split equally between them. The charities are:
- SEED (Support and Empathy for people with Eating Disorders)
- Teenage Cancer Trust via A Shining Light (care and support, designed for and with young people. A Shining Light was set up in memory of Howden School pupil Luke Stevens)
- Hull and East Yorkshire Mind (support and guidance to individuals and families experiencing poor mental health)
- Yorkshire Air Ambulance (dedicated helicopter emergency air ambulance that relies solely on donations)
- Hull and East Yorkshire Children's University (works with children growing up in disadvantaged areas who may not have the same opportunities as others).
Any support in the form of donations will be greatly appreciated as we help these very worthwhile and dedicated charities.
