The Salts perform along The Trafalgar Way
1601
From November 3rd to November 6th 2023, English folk band The Salts will be attempting to perform a song at each of the 39 plaques marking The Trafalgar Way.
The Trafalgar Way is the 271-mile coaching route from Falmouth in Cornwall to the Admiralty in London, as taken by the official messenger - Lt Lapenotiere - returning from the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. The 39 plaques have been erected since 2005 to mark the journey taken by the messenger after 9 harrowing days at sea, carrying his epic news of victory in battle and of the tragic death of Lord Nelson. They are located on inns and other roadside locations, as close as possible to the coaching inns of the time.
A full schedule of roadside performances will be issued in due course - please visit https://www.thetrafalgarway.org/blog/category/upcoming-events for more info, or join the mailing list of The 1805 Club at http://eepurl.com/dwvL9r
*Please sponsor this fantastic musical challenge and help support two amazing causes!*Funds raised from this challenge will be used by The 1805 Club and Jubilee Sailing Trust to support their activities and the projects so close to the hearts of all who love sailing and its history.
The band will also be performing full gigs at four venues along the route - Falmouth, Exeter, Blandford and London - on the evenings of November 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th. For venue and ticket details, see https://www.thesalts.co.uk/thesaltsgigs.
