Racing Against Violence - Ride across Europe
The Ride
Different members of the team cycle from London to Paris and then on to Zurich and finally Milano in support of two amazing charities.
Hakuna Matata (www.hakunamatata-charity.org) supporting humanitarian efforts in Tanzania including orphaned children, education and healthcare projects.
Solace (www.solacewomensaid.org) fighting all gender based violence in Greater London and supporting victims through refuges, hotlines, advice and therapeutic services.
Quotes from the Team
Tom: " I have been raising funds for Solace for 10 years through many different sport events. This is the longest and toughest so far and proud to add Hakuna to the beneficiaries of my efforts in this special occasion"
Alex: "I was invited to join the London-Paris charity ride by Tom, a friend and ex-banking colleague. He is a Director and Co-lead for Racing Against Violence at eCubed, a volunteer organisation that raises money for non-profits that seek to help end violence around London.
I jumped at the opportunity to take on this 249 mile (with 10,350 feet of climbing) since one of the chosen charities is Solace Women’s Aid, a charity offering free advice and support to women and children in London, helping them to build safe and strong lives, free from abuse and violence.
While I am a fitness instructor and triathlon coach by trade, this will be my first 3 day cycle event and my saddle is already beginning to look like an instrument of torture!"
We'll be sharing updates here and on social media. Any donations are greatly appreciated by the team and by Solace and Hakuna Matata!!
