Me and Jade are running a half marathon!
For Dad, and for all diagnosed with a terminal illness.
Last year we received the most devastating news and in that moment our lives changed forever. With the very short time we had left with Dad, he made us laugh, cry and watch him in admiration. He was so brave and strong, until the very end. Amongst all the pain, Macmillan were a huge support to him in those final weeks and the services they provide to families is incredibly important.
For our sister Kerri, and for all who courageously fight against Cancer.
Kez is inspirational. This isn't a new thing - we've always been in awe of her. She overachieved academically, consistently smashes out PBs in sporting events and is a wonderful genuine considerate human. It certainly made it hard to follow in her footsteps...
In early 2023, less than 1 year after we lost our Dad and before her 30th birthday, Kerri was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. As a family with carriers of the BRCA gene and with the experiences we've already had, we understood the likelihood of a cancer diagnosis hitting us again but didn't expect it so soon and whilst still grieving. We are grateful that Kerri is so active, healthy, young. Even throughout the months of chemotherapy, she continued to run and cycle at a pace that we would not be able to keep up with! You've shown us all the power of determination and positivity.
This one is for you both.
