Walking Matters - See Life through a New Lens

On 25th April we will be walking 28km from Whitstable to Margate on a beautiful coastal walk to remember the life of Mattie Thompson. This brings together a walking group from Mattie's hometown in Hungerford.and people from across the UK. A group that started out of lockdown and has continued ever since.

Mattie loved walking for fitness, space and connection. Many of these miles were shared with his mum Lesley,as well as solo adventures that meant a lot to him. He also saw the world differently through his work in film and photography.
This walk encourages others to do just this - to bring people together to move, talk, reflect - and to bring better support and awareness around mental health.
We will be joined by walkers from Hungerford as well as walkers from here in Kent and hope this is the first of many we organise.
If this walk helps one person see their life through new lens then this walk will have been worth it.
Every step matters.
We are fund raising for 2 charities chosen by Lesley. For prevention of suicide through Mens Mind Matters and if, in Lesley's words, you become part of this awful club, for support and counselling if affected by suicide, through Suicide & Co
