Cycling 12,000km across Africa: Agadir to Agulhas

In 2023, my life turned upside down. I was diagnosed with post-infective fatigue syndrome, forcing me to stop working and move back in with my parents. It was one of the hardest periods of my life.

The illness left me physically depleted, struggling to get out of bed, but as my condition deteriorated, the impact on my mind was what frightened me most. I never truly understood mental health until I lost my own. I know how lucky I am to have had support around me — family, friends, and resources — but I also know that not everyone is so fortunate. I’m very grateful to say I’ve made a full recovery, and I want to use my experience to support others.

Having already cycled 4,500 km from London to Agadir, I’m now about to take on 12,000 km from Agadir to Cape Agulhas, Africa’s southernmost point, raising funds and awareness for mental health along the way. I’m supporting Mind UK and Network for Africa, both of which are doing incredible work to improve mental health in the UK and across Africa.

Thank you so much for reading, and every bit of support means the world to me!
