2026 hasn't exactly started the way that either of us would have wanted or thought and heartbreak has played its part in our lives for multiple reasons. Instead of sitting back and letting our grief consume us, we have decided to use the upcoming period of Lent in order to raise money for 2 charities; The British Heart Foundation & The Miscarriage Association.
We will be running a combined 200k over lent, which works out at 2.5k each, per day. Ideally, we will cover even more but I decided to set a realistic target whilst still recovering from knee surgery.
On the 21st of January whilst living it up in the Phillipines, Rebecca's dad, Clive, tragically passed away after suffering from a sudden heart attack. Being unaware of any underlying issues, we were, and are still in complete and utter shock.
In light of this, we decided to raise money for the BHF to allow them to continue cardiovascular research and help them combat heart and circulatory diseases.
In addition to losing Clive, we also lost our very own bundle of joy. Before Christmas, we found out that Rebecca was pregnant and we were so excited and looking forward to this massive change in our lives, but sadly, a scan showed that our little angel had lost their heartbeat and further scans and tests confirmed a miscarriage. We were/are both absolutely heartbroken.
The Miscarriage Association is a great charity that provides support, information, and advocacy for anyone affected by miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, or molar pregnancy.
If anybody could spare anything for 2 amazing charities, we would be so appreciative.
On Sunday the 8th of February 2026, Rebecca sadly lost her Nana, Margaret Mullen after a cancer diagnosis.
Unfortunately, we opened this page prior to this and as a result we can't add another charity. However, we will still be doing this fundraiser in her memory.
Thanks,
Shaun & Rebecca x

The Miscarriage Association was founded in 1982 by a group of people who had experienced miscarriage and we continue to offer support and information to anyone affected by the loss of a baby in pregnancy, to raise awareness and to promote good practice in medical care.
