Sahara Gumps: Tackling Marathon des Sables

Godfather and godson team, Will Robertson and Adam Constable are tackling what has been ranked by the Discovery Channel as the toughest footrace on earth. The Marathon Des Sables. This year, the 40th anniversary of the race, is set to be the longest and toughest yet, including, on day 4, a 100km leg. The race extends 270km across the Sahara Desert over 7 days, with runners battling heat and sand storms across endless dunes and scrub. Apart from a bivouac, we will be carrying everything we need to eat and survive on our backs.

One of us is young and fit. The other is Adam.

On any view, there is no more iconic way to raise money for three amazing charities, the Cystic Fibrosis Trust,the Down's Syndrom Society, and Marie Curie. Each of these is dear to our hearts.

Please give as much or as little as you can, and support us on our way! Every penny will keep us focussed in the darker moments of the challenge.
