Over the space of 4 weeks various runners in our team will be carrying out Rome Marathon, a 50k ultra around Battersea Track and London Marathon. Most of us have never ran a marathon, so doing multiple over a short space of time is an ambitious challenge we hope to achieve.
My late partner Emma sadly passed away in December 2024 after being diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer in the July previously. St Michael’s Hospice - Hastings, provided Emma with flawless end of life care. The hospice gave Emma, her family and myself incredible support and kindness during a truly horrific time. Their tireless work and care will always hold a special place in my heart, giving Emma what she wanted, a painless and peaceful end surrounded by love and care.
Raising money for TNBC will no doubt help support others in Emma’s position, provide support for those diagnosed and their loved ones, and continue to research into how this horrible disease can be fought.
Emma being a great runner herself, told me she wanted to complete a marathon after she recovered, to raise money for TNBC and spread her message. Sadly we’re having to do this for her, something I’m determined to do in her name.
The love and support from friends and family has been incredible, and I know Emma will be with us on the day.
I hope you can donate and support us all on these tough challenges, many thanks, James
