Force Atlantic 2026 – Rowing for Resilience, Leadership, and LegacyIn December 2026, five members of Oxford University Officers’ Training Corps (OUOTC) will embark on an extraordinary journey: rowing over 3,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean, completely unsupported, as part of the World’s Toughest Row – Atlantic. From the volcanic shores of San Sebastián de La Gomera to the tropical haven of Nelson’s Dockyard, Antigua, the team will face mountainous seas, sleep deprivation, salt sores, and extreme fatigue — all in a specially designed 8.6m ocean rowing boat. Operating on a relentless 3-hours-on, 2-hours-off schedule for up to 45 days, they will rely on teamwork, resilience, and sheer determination to complete one of the world’s most revered physical challenges. But Force Atlantic 2026 is about more than just crossing an ocean. This project is a powerful showcase of how the British Army and its Officer Training Corps develop individuals to reach their full potential — personally and professionally. The team represents the full spectrum of Army service: Regular, Reserve, FTRS, Soldier, and Officer, united by a shared commitment to leadership, growth, and service. Why We RowWe row for purpose.
