Foz's Fundraiser

Josh (Foz) Forster, the gentle giant that we not only had the pleasure of calling our friend but our cousin. Josh sadly suffered with his mental health and took his own life earlier this year. Josh believed heavily on pushing out of your comfort zones and doing something different which is why we're doing the Cheltenham Half Marathon. No amount of money will ever replace the void left by Josh but we will do what we can to help men and specifically members of the armed forces that are suffering with mental health. Any donation no matter how much would mean the world to us.

Matt- I looked up to Josh and was proud of what he had achieved at his time in the army. We had so many childhood memories together which included numerous wrestling matches on his trampoline, holidays down in the caravan but more recently sharing many a beer together (not the hangovers so much) and hitting the night clubs together and I'll always cherish those memories. Josh was the king of the one liners and would constantly have you laughing in his company and no matter what the mood was he would always, without fail, make it better. Josh would usually come across as a big hard nut but under that was a soft centred person who genuinely cared for the people he loved and would always be a shoulder to cry on and someone who would listen to all of your problems and tell you everything will be alright. He'll never be forgotten and for the time he did walk the earth he made such a big impact on peoples lives and especially mine. Rest easy Foz.

Sarah- A half marathon is absolutely something I never ever thought I would attempt. Running is not something I’m either good at or enjoy, but that’s the point of the challenge right??? I am doing this run in loving memory of my gorgeous cousin Josh. Sadly in March 2023 Josh took his own life. Josh was an incredible person, loving, funny, kind and a true gentleman. I will never understand why Josh thought this was the only way out, he had so much to live for. I will treasure the memories I have made with Josh, from family holidays abroad, many Christmas’ together and drinks shared in the sunshine as we grew older. Josh, I would not take this challenge on for just anyone but you my friend are worth it. I hope we do you proud, cheer us on from above. Love you xxx

Laura- Josh, one of my baby cousins who grew into a giant of a man with a smile and heart to match. Memories of a wild child with a mass of curly hair, the goth days, the mustache and how proud he made his family! As Sarah said, this is tough, running is not for me but it's also a challenge I want to push myself to do and raise some funds for 2 great charity's in Josh's memory.
