On the 10th May 2026 Team Jon will be taking on the Rob Burrows Leeds Marathon. Jon will be taking on the 26.2 miles in a specially modified pushchair. Jon will have a support team consisting of Al, Shakey, Barney & Vinny.
Sadly, after suffering from increased loss of strength and muscular twitching, Jon was recently diagnosed with MND (Motor Neurone Disease). MND is a rare condition affecting the brain and nerves, causing muscle weakness, twitches, slurred speech, and difficulty swallowing. It occurs when motor neurones in the brain and nerves gradually stop working, leading to devastating consequences.
Due to this condition, Jon, his wife Marie and their 2 girls are facing the heart breaking reality of having to move out of their family home to manage the challenges that come with living with this debilitating disease. Although there is currently no cure for MND, we can make a difference together.
Every pound of your donations will go MNDA & Somerset Village and Community Agents. The vital funds will provide the amazing work that these charities carry out.
